Blind Spot Intervention System

Blind spots are always dangerous, as they’re impossible for a driver to monitor easily. If a vehicle enters one of your blind spots, it’s effectively invisible, especially if it’s traveling at the same speed you are. This situation is even more dangerous if you’re about to change lanes, as you could easily be hit by a vehicle already in that lane that you couldn’t see.

This system uses sonar sensors located at your INFINITI’s rear that continually scan blind spots. If they detect a vehicle, a waning light will appear on the relevant side view mirror. If you’re actively changing lanes, you’ll also hear a chime to alert you to pull back into your original lane. If your vehicle continues to move toward the danger, the system applies the brakes to prevent a possible collision.

Predictive Forward Collision Warning

Many safety systems can watch the vehicle ahead and warn you if you’re getting too close, but INFINITI takes these warnings to the next level. This feature also monitors the vehicle ahead of the one in front of you. The system uses radar and a specialized camera to watch both vehicles.

You’ll receive visual and audio alerts if either vehicle slows down or brakes, so you can react and prevent an accident. The system pre-charges the brakes, making them faster and more responsive, so you can stop quickly. If you don’t respond fast enough, emergency braking will be applied automatically to prevent a collision.

Lane Departure Prevention

If it’s dark, and you’re tired, it can be very easy to stray across the lane lines without meaning to. This can be very dangerous, as another vehicle already in that lane may not stop in time. This feature uses a camera that detects lane lines and supplies audio and visual alerts if you’re about to leave your lane without actively steering.

If necessary, this system will apply the brakes to keep you in your lane.
