When you buy your new INFINITI, you not only receive a stylish, luxury vehicle, but you also get one of the best new car warranties on the market to protect it. Basic Coverage This warranty covers most of the systems and components in your INFINITI against the possibility of any factory-related situation involving your car's materials or workmanship. Unlike many other vehicle warranties that apply for only three years or 36,000 miles, your basic coverage protects your car for four years or 48,000 miles, whichever occurs first. more Any necessary repairs under this warranty will be performed at no charge. Certain types of damage are not covered. Examples of these exclusions are damage due to environmental conditions, damage from improper maintenance repairs, and fire damage. All the exclusions are listed in your warranty information booklet. Powertrain Coverage The powertrain covers four of your car's most important systems, namely the engine, the transmission and transaxle, the drivetrain, and the restraint system. Components in these systems are protected against any defect for six years or 72,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The full list of components covered by this warranty can be found in your warranty booklet. Corrosion Coverage This warranty protects all the sheet metal in your car against perforation damage. Perforation is corrosion that penetrates the metal from one side to the other. Your INFINITI is protected against perforation or rust-through, so you don't need to apply any other rust-proofing. If perforation damage occurs, the affected panel or panels will be replaced free of charge. This coverage applies for the first seven years regardless of mileage. Federal Emissions Control Warranties The emissions system is responsible for converting dangerous chemicals produced by the engine into harmless ones to reduce pollution. This system is covered by two warranties. Emission Defects Warranty All but three components in the emissions system are protected against any defect for four years or 60,000 miles. The onboard diagnostic device, catalytic converter, and engine control module are covered for eight years or 80,000 miles. Emissions Performance Warranty The performance warranty applies if your car fails an emissions test and this failure would require you to pay a fine. If this happens, any repairs necessary to ensure your INFINITI passes the test will be performed free of charge. It applies for the first two years or 24,000 miles.
